T O P I C R E V I E WMilaBirkinI have Jupiter in 8th house and I'm a woman but I feel curious about Saturn in 8th house in a man and what does this says about his sexuality. Pisces in 8th house. Doux RêveNot much... One way this could manifest is a general seriousness about sex. The tendency here is to only share intimacy with special people who hold some significance; although I am sure the reverse is possible (if other indicators point to a more 'libertine' personality). But the way they handle finances is generally very cautious/restrictive. Same goes for sharing or giving material possessions to others. Where Jupiter is generous, Saturn tends to be stingy. aquagembabySaturn in the 8th could have hang ups about sex and deeply connecting and they may take awhile before they have that "real" intimacy or merging with someone. some may end up w/ people that are emotionally unavailable, or sometimes they themselves may not even believe in such things and may feel that the whole "soulmate" concept is bogus (depending on the sign on the 8H cusp). i feel like this is due to the fact that Saturn wants to always maintain control but it can't in a turbulent place like the 8th. this person might need to learn that it's okay to not always be in control of their emotions (and other people's emotions) and yes, sometimes they may get rejected or they may get hurt but they have to understand that pain comes w/ the territory of this house and it doesn't always have to be negative.im also wondering if people w/ this placement might be highly skeptical of the occult or have negative views about it? or they may really take a long time to be convinced into such things. it'd be interesting to know.Doux Rêve^ In my experience, yes to your last question. That's also seen with Saturn in the 9H sometimes... I should add, that if Saturn is paired with another planet in the 8H, it changes things significantly. Also, it depends on the aspects (supporting or challenging). My ex had Mars conjunct Saturn in the 8H (close to the 9H) and he was not afraid of intimacy and had no sexual hang-ups (that I'm aware of). In fact, I would say I was the one who played out the Saturn/8H theme more. But it is true that in the beginning, he was hard to "reach", emotionally (I think that's a male thing overall though). I did feel like the emotional part was lacking; and it was probably one of the reasons I broke up. We got back together after a few months (my move) and he was very different then, emotionally open and vulnerable, yet strong and tenacious; ready to take any hit. I am still in awe at how maturely he handled it all. I look up to him in that regard. His Saturn was very well-aspected, which I believe contributed to his maturity and healthy way of handling things.(More specifically, it trines his Moon and Pluto and sextiles Venus, Uranus & Neptune.)mar1982delta@aquagembaby" im also wondering if people w/ this placement might be highly skeptical of the occult or have negative views about it? or they may really take a long time to be convinced into such things. "I have saturn in 8th and that isnt the case! It wasnt since I was a kid. On the contrary, I was always drawn to the occult. Neither I have intimacy issues. Possibly drawn to emotionally unavailable guys, yes, though. Hmmm, wondering if saturn in the 8th could indicate the beginning of sexual life a bit later than average, since I began in age 21, whereas most girls in my age had already begun since age 18 or earlier.@DouxRêve" a general seriousness about sex. The tendency here is to only share intimacy with special people who hold some significance"Yes to this. I dont usually have casual sex so to speak, although I really love sex, lol. But if I have sex with somebody, I ll somehow feel some kind of connection to them, it means something to me, I cant have it if its totally unmeaningful, its like it is a form of instant "bonding" to someone. This has negative effects of course, too.I should also mention that I am a woman, I really dont know if this aspect has such different manifestations in men..P.S. saturn in libra in 8th, unaspected, virgo on 8th house cusp.aquagembabyDoux Reve,Very interesting. With Mars conjunct Saturn, did he have really controlled manners when trying to express himself at a personal level? I see Mars conjunct Saturn in the 8H as controlled impulses. Yeah it only makes sense b/c Saturn delays things so much so it can delay intimacy and "warming up" to someone. With an Even then, it must be hard for these people to truly open up 100% and at that point their partner will feel left out or confused. It's a vicious cycle. Especially w/ bad aspects. I have Chiron in 8H so I have more or less similar issues. mar1982delta,Hey thanks, haha yeah well clearly if you are here you're obviously not skeptical of the occult It seems like being a late bloomer and being w/ emotionally unavailable people could have been Saturn lessons of delaying. But I think having an unaspected Saturn in your case helps.Aries23DegreesThe 8th is the house of sudden/unexpected events-whether "good" or "bad". It is also the house of controversies, death, loss and separation. So crudely interpreted,death/loss/separation or unexpected events(8th) are slowed down(Saturn). The individual may lead a very long life. Or can have a very realistic approach towards these issues. When Saturn is in any house,it "slows" down the expression of that house or inhibits it.So the individual may ponder on the issues of that house a lot longer than most people. So their approach to the issues of that house may seem more "wise", deliberate and mature.8th house is also the house of intense feelings and strong reaction. And once again, with Saturn there, these strong feelings will be lessened a great deal.So because of this, extreme reactions to the areas of life that Saturn rules in their chart, will be unlikely.Saturn in 8th could also point to the loss of a patriarchal figure. Forcing the individual to be the one who is left to fill that role and be the "reasonable" one in a crises etc. When it comes to sex/intimacy/feelings(an area where extremes can happen), they can be very cool, calm and perhaps even detached. But we also have to consider where the ruler of the 8th is placed and any aspects it shares with other planets- to get the bigger picture.Kannon McAfeeMy birth chart has Sun conjunct Saturn (Taurus) in the 8th house. In "formal" situations or in sutuations that were quite emotionally "intense" he was very calm and collected, but overall he was very expressive, almost child-like sometimes. Aries Sun, Cancer Moon, Leo Asc. Very open, very frank (which I loved about him). And actually quite spontaneous as well! But yes, there was a very serious, "mature" side to him, too. He could be pretty harsh and even "amoral" in some regards, but nonetheless when it came to actual real life situations, he was always a rock you could rely on. Very stable and responsible. There was no delay in sexual activity in his case, actually it was a rather "premature" thing, and not wanted (Mars in the 8H trine Pluto most probably reflects this - early sexual activity that's not always desired by the native). I think it affected him in many ways and also contributed to his vision of sex/intimacy - he didn't want it to be a mindless, casual thing, because he knew what that was like already (and wasn't fond of it). He had a very firm, even "harsh" way of expressing his views on that matter. I find it interesting that some of you say that Saturn in the 8H can point to being attracted/attracting unavailable people, because I was certainly that way with him. Even sexually, we had our troubles in the beginning (due to traumatic past experiences) so there's that "time" aspect to it. Emotionally as well, we only got truly close when things were already over and we both realized what we had lost. It does make sense, because the 8H is how you experience intimacy with others, and when Saturn is there, you attract Saturnian "themes" when you're in intimate situations - i.e. delays, frustrations, insecurity, detachment, etc. With time it can be solid though, and very dependable. At any rate, certainly very maturing and worth the lesson. Ps.
